Ways to connect

Devices send readings over MQTT or HTTP with a per-device key; LoRaWAN devices come in through The Things Network or ChirpStack; Modbus equipment connects through the FacilityPro edge gateway.

Building management systems

The same edge gateway speaks BACnet/IP. It finds the BMS controllers on the building network, reads their objects, and polls the points an administrator chooses. BMS points then behave like any other device: live values, history, rules, alerts and work orders.

What happens to readings

Readings are normalised into data points (temperature, energy, vibration, …), shown live and as history, and checked against alert rules.

Alerts and work

An alert can open a work order automatically and escalates if nobody acknowledges it. Devices that stop reporting are flagged as offline.

Commands

Supported devices can receive commands (for example on/off) from FacilityPro through the gateway.
